Putnam, Thomas N., 1855-1931.
Born at Seneca Falls, N.Y., son of William and Martha Putnam. Family moved to Xenia, Iowa, later to Rockwell, Iowa. Thomas began in the lumber trade in 1878, moved to Brainerd, Minn. in 1880 to manage J.J. Howe Lumber Co. Moved to Carrington, N.D. in 1886, purchased his own lumberyard and farmland. Began a business partnership with his nephew, Ralph L. Miller, in 1911. Wed Clara W. Rood (1861-1937) in 1886. Elected Foster County Treasurer 1892-1898, to N.D. House of Representatives 1910 and 1912, and to N.D. Senate 1914 and 1930. Died at Carrington, N.D.
