Wright, James Martin, 1879-1965.
James Martin Wright, educator and author, was born 3 Decemer 1879, in Missouri, and died 18 June 1965, place unknown. He was a graduate of Johns Hopkins University (1905) and Columbia University (Ph. D. 1915); the author of HISTORY OF THE BAHAMA ISLANDS, 1815-1848 (1905), THE FREE NEGRO IN MARYLAND, 1634-1860 (1921), and other works; and a contributor of articles to several journals. He taught history at Johns Hopkins after his graduation, and later, at Agnes Scott College.
