Guthrie, George Wilkins, 1848-1917.
George W. Guthrie was an attorney before being elected to Mayor of Pittsburgh in 1905. He supported Woodrow Wilson in 1913 and was rewarded with the post of Ambassador to Japan. He remained in this position until his death in 1917.
