Larry Doby played for the Newark Eagles of the Negro National League (1942-1943, 1946-1947) Cleveland Indians (1947-1955, 1958), Chicago White Sox (1956-1957, 1959), and the Detroit Tigers (1959). After his playing career, Doby worked for the Montreal Expos, Indians (1978 as manager), and the White Sox. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1998.
