William J. Dickey (b. 1828) lived in Thomas County, Georgia and was the son of Shadrack Edward Dickey (1804-1847) and Susan Harvin Dickey. He married Anna Maria Reynolds in 1849. Patrick Henry Dickey (b. 1832), Shadrack Arthur Dickey (b. 1837), and John Edwin Dickey (1840-1913) were brothers of William Dickey. W.H. Reynolds, J.M. Reynolds, and John C. Reynolds were brothers of Anna Reynolds Dickey. All of the brothers served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War, most of them in the 29th Regiment.
