Joseph Carl Fisch (1907-1966) was born in Birmingham, Alabama to William F. L. Fisch and Lillian Fisher Fisch. After his father's bakery business, American Bakeries, moved its headquarters to Atlanta, Joseph Fisch arrived with his family in Atlanta, living on Inman Circle. A graduate of Tech High School, he attended Emory and Oglethorpe Universities. In 1926 he married Josephine Clarke. After their father sold his interest in American Bakeries, Joseph and his brother Howard launched Highland Bakery on Highland Avenue in the early 1930s. Joseph Fisch was an avid sportsman who loved to hunt and fish, however, his passion was photography. He died in October, 1966 in Atlanta.
