George W. Walker was born in Virginia in 1843. In 1872, he married Emma Wysor. They had at least eleven children. He taught for 23 years at public and private schools in Pulaski County, Va, and taught for 12 years at V.P.I. Walker died in North Carolina in 1910.

J. Ernest Walker was born in Virginia in 1873. He was an older son of George W. Walker who moved to Arizona at 11 and became successful in the real estate business. Col. John E. Walker was a young son of George W. Walker and graduated from V.P.I. with a B.S. in 1934.
