Mary Sloan Smith was born c 1901 in Glasgow, Scotland. She matriculated into the medical faculty at University of Glasgow in 1918. In her first year she studied Chemistry and Zoology. Her second year subjects were Physiology and Anatomy. In third year she studied Materia Medica, Surgery, and Pathology. For her fourth year she studied Medicine, Midwifery, Medical Clinic, Fevers, and Dermatology. Her final year subjects were Medical Clinic, and lectures on sick children. She graduated MB ChB in 1923 .
Mary died in Glasgow on 17 July 1977.
