Lapham, Helen Abbot.
Lapham was the head of the American-Hawaiian Steamship Company beginning in the 1920s. He served as mayor of San Francisco from 1944-1947. He also served as a U.S. Army officer in World War I, Chief of the American Economic Aid Mission to Greece, 1950-1951, and head of the Economic Cooperation Administration in China, 1948-1949.
