Byrd, Thomas, 1753-1827
Variant namesThomas Byrd was born in England; the date of his arrival in the U.S. is unknown. He first appeared in the Vergennes, Vt., grand list in 1793. He was a trial lawyer, served several terms as mayor of Vergennes, and represented the city in the Vermont Legislature in 1806.
