Kiser, Preston, 1833-1862.
James Preston Kiser was born Feb. 8, 1838 in Ohio. He married Catherine M. Lonberger in Oct. 1856, by whom he had three children. The Kisers lived in Tippecanoe County (Ind.) by 1854, whence James Kiser was mustered into service in late 1861. He served as Captain in Company G of the 40th Indiana Regiment, and died at Nashville, Tennessee, April 1, 1862.
