Harry Lichtenwalter Baker, Jr. graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1934 with a degree in Chemical Engineering. As a student, he was a member of Phi Kappa Phi, and he was active in the debating society and Alpha Chi Sigma. He was President of the Georgia Tech Research Institute from 1946 until his death in 1973.
