Cairns, John I.
Captain James Lawrence (1781-1813) was an American naval officer during the War of 1812. He is known for commanding the USS Chesapeake in a battle against the HMS Shannon, commanded by British officer Philip Broke, which resulted in Lawrence being mortally wounded.
