Sizemore, Rose

Rose Sizemore was a North Texas educator and arts instructor who worked throughout the region from the 1920s to the 1960s. She taught school, served as a school principal, and operated dance studios for children in several towns including Denton, Cuero, Corsicana, and Lewisville. Sizemore received her undergraduate degree from North Texas State Teachers College in 1928 and a master's degree from Texas State College for Women in 1952. She was the sixth of thirteen children born to Margaret Etta Carr and Benjamin Franklin (B.F.) Sizemore, a prominent Baptist preacher who founded the Trinity Baptist Church in Denton, known today as the Highland Baptist Church.
