McMillan, Angus, 1810-1865
Variant namesAngus McMillan arrived in Australia in January 1838. In 1864, after a long career as an explorer and pioneer pastoralist in Gippsland, he was offered the leadership of the Victorian government's Alpine Expedition to open tracks in the mining area of Omeo, Dargo and Matlock.

Explorer. Migrated to Australia 1837, employed by Lachlan Macalister. In 1839-1841 made several journeys into Gippsland, eventually reaching sea at Pt. Albert. Member of Victorian Legislative Assembly 1856-1860.
