Jean M. Besser graduated from Hornell High School in 1938 and the State Teachers College at Geneseo with a bachelor's degree in elementary education in 1943. She served as art supervisor at the Holcomb School from 1950 until 1981 and served on the board of the Geneseo Alumni Association. She received the Geneseo Alumni Association Distinguished Service Award in 1988 and was the recipient of the Society of Old Main Award in 1993. Jean Besser died in 2000.
