Frølich, Lorenz, 1820-1908
Variant namesLorenz Frølich was a Danish artist who specialized in illustrating fairy tales and other books especially for children. He illustrated many tales from Norse and Germanic legend and folklore, and also wrote and illustrated his own children's books. He was active in Paris, and many of his works were published first in French. He is probably best remembered for illustrating Hans Christian Andersen's collected stories.
