Frederick Lewis Weis (August 22, 1895-April 11, 1966) was born in Cranston, Rhode Island. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1917; and attended Meadville Theological School, where he received a BD degree in 1922, an STM in 1928, and a ThD in 1930. He was ordained as a Unitarian minister on November 9, 1924 at the Third Religious Society in Dorchester, Massachusetts, and served as pastor there until 1929. From 1929 to 1951 he was pastor of the First Church of Christ in Lancaster, Massachusetts. In 1926 he married Elizabeth Williams Stone, and they had two children, Robert and Virginia. Reverend Weis wrote several books on church history and genealogy. He died in Brattleboro, Vermont.
