Martin, Thomas (Thomas Wesley), 1881-1964.
Martin was born in Scottsboro, Alabama. He attended the University of Alabama Law School, practiced law, and became General Counsel for the Alabama Power Company in 1912. From 1919 when he became President, until 1963, he served as the chief executive officer of the company. He was named chairman of the board of the company in 1949. He was a member of many civic, fraternal and professional organizations, and a recipient of many awards and honors.
