Bailey, Chesley Davis.
Chesley Davis Bailey enlisted in the Union army at Columbia, Kentucky, on 12 December 1861. He and his wife Ada were living in Jeffersonville, Indiana, at the time. He was commissioned into the army as a first lieutenant, and eventually rose to the rank of lieutenant colonel. He was wounded and went home for two months. He recovered and returned to duty but was mustered out of the army at Louisville, Kentucky, 15 December 1864. His birth and death dates are unknown.
