First Presbyterian Church (Washington, D.C.). Committee of Ways and Means
The First Presbyterian Church in Washington, D.C., was also known in its earliest days as the First Presbyterian Church of Washington City. It was organized 1812 and merged in 1931 with Church of the Covenant Presbyterian Church (organized 1886 in Washington, D.C.) to form Covenant-First Presbyterian Church. The name changed in 1947 to the National Presbyterian Church.
