Hawkins, William E., 1862-1937.

W. E. Hawkins was born in 1862 in Greenwood, La., and lived primarily in Texas. He served as a justice of the Texas Supreme Court. He and his wife had a son and three daughters. Following the 1928 death of E. A. Burke, as one of the heirs, William E. Hawkins went to Tegucigalpa, Honduras, to settle the mining estate left by his uncle. Burke had fled to Honduras following an indictment for embezzlement of Louisiana state bonds. Hawkins died in Abilene, Tex., in 1937.
