Covert, Thomas M.

Thomas M. Covert was a member of the 6th Regiment Ohio Volunteer Cavalry from 1862-1985. During 1861 he was stationed at Warren, Ohio and Camp Hutchins. He was at Camp Denison, Camp Chase and at New Creek with Fremont's and Singles' Divisions in 1862. He saw action in Virginia. He contracted typhoid fever and was sent to Mt. Pleasent Hospital from Dec. 1863 through early 1864. He returned to action around Warrenton, Va. but was sent to the U.S. General Hospital at Cleveland, Ohio as a patient from June 1864 to Sept. 1864. He was transferred to Camp Stoneman, D.C. in Oct. 1864. He returned to the 6th Regiment in Virginia through 1865.
