Interdenominational traveling preacher.

Rev. McCormick preached in the North Florida area in and around Gainesville from 1860 to 1883, if not prior to and after that time. The collection consists of his diary from August 21st to December 31st, 1860 and 6 sermons with the dates he repeated them by request. At the beginning of his diary he states that he has been lax about keeping a date book and resolves to reestablish the habit.

Since most of the year has already passed he begins with the events of the earlier portion of the year including who he has received monies from for his services. It is interesting to note that he preached at both Protestant and Catholic church services.
