Francis Valentine Keesling, born 17 Feb. 1877 in San Jose, California, received his A.B. from Stanford in 1898 and was admitted to the California Bar the same year. During his lifetime Keesling was a lawyer, insurance executive, civic leader, and politician. In 1910 he was the Republican candidate for governor of California. He died 25 September 1963.
