Charles, Lucile Marie Hoerr, 1903-1965

Dr. Lucile Charles was born in Chicago and graduated from the University of Chicago in 1930. During the 1930s she was coordinator of a radio drama series for the Columbia Broadcasting System. Between 1946 and 1953 Dr. Charles taught and was director of Dramatic Arts at East Carolina College. From 1953 until 1955 she studied at the Jung Institute in Zurich, Switzerland, as a Fulbright Fellow, after which she returned to ECU where she taught until her death on March 7, 1965.
