De Grummond, Jane Lucas, 1905-
Variant namesJane Lucas de Grummond (1905-1991) was the first woman to receive a Ph.D. from the Louisiana State University History Department (1946) and its first female faculty member. She was professor of Latin American history at LSU from 1942 to 1976. She wrote on the histories of Venezuela and Louisiana during the 19th century.
