Isaac Sumner Wright, a native of Ohio and a graduate of that states Medical school, traveled with a large caravan to California in 1849. While in California he ran a general store, helped to organize a Vigilance Committee in Marysville, Calif., and wrote mining laws. Back in Ohio, Wright oraganized the Republican Party in Clinton County, and served in the state legislature, where he was responsible for a bill requiring the printing of formulas on labels of medications.
