Chicago, Ill. World War II and Korean War veteran who attained rank of Captain. Served in Panama Canal Zone as an aerial photographer and navigator with the 108th squadron and also flew patrol missions, carried mail, searched for missing aircraft and provided reconnaissance support. After attending Air Force Staff School in 1944 he was assigned to 1046th A.A.F. Base Group stationed at St. Mawgan air base in Cornwall flying transport runs between there and Africa. In 1951 he was ordered to 21 months of National Guard duty with the 126th Bombardment Wing doing NATO exercises in Europe. After the war he returned to the family owned Schridde Company, an engraving and die work. He and his twin sister, Dorothy, both enjoyed traveling. She visited her brother in Europe while he was stationed there. Dorothy worked at the Schridde Co. and also as a nurse's aid during the war.
