Cape Fear and Yadkin Valley Railway Company
Organized in 1879 through the consolidation of Western Railroad Company and Mt. Airy Railroad Company; reorganized in 1899 as Atlantic and Yadkin Railway Company; ran from Sanford to Mount Airy, N.C. (131 miles).
