R. Alex Sim Collection (University of Guelph)

R. Alex Sim was born in Saskatchewan and grew up in rural Ontario. He was involved in the founding of the New Canada Movement in the 1930's, rural Folk Schools, the National Farm Radio Forum, and student cooperative residences at Toronto. He has worked with the Rural Learning Association to foster a regeneration of rural community. R. Alex Sim has been director of adult education at Macdonald College, a sociology teacher at the University of Toronto and Ottawa University, and a consultant in community development.
