Dexter Morgan Easton was born on September 13, 1921 in Pigeon Cove, Maine. He received his BA from Clark University and a PhD from Harvard. He was a Fulbright fellow in New Zealand and an instructor at Washington University in Seattle before joining the faculty of the Department of Biological Science at Florida State University in 1956. Designated Professor Emeritus in 2004, he continued to conduct research and publish until his death in 2010.
