Spokane Falls and Northern Railway Company.

Hide Profile

Incorporated in 1888 under the laws of Washington Territory, the company succeeded in building and operating a railroad line extending from Spokane Falls to the international boundary where it connected with a sister company, the Nelson and Fort Sheppard Railway of British Columbia. In 1898, the Northern Pacific acquired a majority of the company's securities and turned them over to GN under the terms of a standing agreement, and in 1907, the Spokane Falls and Northern agreed to sell its assets to GN. The corporation was formally dissolved in 1925 and became a portion of the GN railway system.
