South Georgia Island Expedition (1912-1913)

The Expedition was made aboard the brig DAISY and was sponsored by Arthur C. James. Dr. Robert Cushman Murphy's field work began May 1912 and was conducted jointly with the Brooklyn Institute Museum. The expedition reached South Georgia in Nov. 1912. Its purpose was to secure specimens of sea elephants and penguins, and to make general zoological observations.
