Neyenhuis was born in Renton, Washington on February 7, 1984 to Gary and Marsha Beck. Her father, who was an officer in the United States Coast Guard, therefore moved his young family quite frequently during Neyehuis' childhood. Neyenhuis graduated from high school in California in 2002, and from Brigham Young University in August 2006 with a bachelor's degree in English and a minor in editing. She married Brian Neyenhuis, son of Killeen Walker Neyenhuis and Rudy Neyenhuis on July 20, 2005. Brian graduated from Brigham Young University in April 2006 with a Bachelor's Degree in Physics before pursuing a Ph. D in Physics at the University of Colorado in Boulder.
