Palmer, Barnabas Dorr, 1842-
Palmer was commissioned Captain of Co. K, U.S. Volunteer Infantry in 1865 and commanded several posts in the West. In 1866 he was elected clerk of the District Court of Douglas Co. He lost his right arm at the Battle of Cabin Creek in 1863 and learned to write with his left hand.
