Loring, Charles, 1873-1961.
Born in Wisconsin, moved to Clay County, Minn. in 1877 with his parents. His father, Lyman Loring, managed the Stickney Farm (also known as the Loring Farm), sold out and in 1889 or 1890, moved to a ranch near East Kootenai River, Montana, an area known as the Tobacco Plains. Died there in 1898 and was buried at Kalispell, Mont. Charles attended University of Minnesota law school, established private law practice in Moorhead, Minn. with Carroll Nye, later moved to Crookston, Minn. and practiced in partnership with Halvor Steenerson. Enlisted in U.S. Army, served from World War I until 1926, returned to private practice, offered Minnesota Supreme Court judgeship in 1930. Married Bertha Darrow 1900, she died in 1932, married Frances Nye in 1932. Died at Tucson, Arizona.
