Harlan, Harry V. (Harry Vaughn), 1882-1944
Variant namesHarry V. Harlan graduated from Kansas State College in 1904. He worked in Manila, Philippines from 1905-1908. After two years of graduate school at Kansas State, he joined the U.S. Department of Agriculture and worked for David Fairchild, then Mark Carleton, both scientists. Even though he had no prior experience with barley, he was assigned to the barley project.
