A pioneer in the field of computer graphics, Dr. David F. Rogers wrote some of the best known textbooks in the field, such as Mathematical Elements for Computer Graphics, Procedural Elements for Computer Graphics, and An Introduction to NURBS, With Historical Perspective, to name just a few. He served as Professor of Aerospace Engineering and Director of Aeronautics at the U.S. Naval Academy, and was among the original faculty in this department when it was instituted in 1964. He also established the Computer Aided Design Interactive Graphics Group at the Naval Academy and served as its director.
