City of Cambridge
The Cambridge Market returns were received during this period by William Dowding, receiver of corn returns, London, and Richard Rowe, inspector. The third official was William Jacob (1762?-1851), traveller and writer. Jacob enjoyed success as a London merchant, before becoming comptroller of corn returns to the board of trade, 1822-1842.
