Robert O. Preyer was a professor of English and American literature at Brandeis University from 1954-1997. A Scholar of Victorian literature and poetry he taught and lectured widely including writing articles for many prestigious journals. Robert Preyer was active in the creation of the Transitional Year Program and the African and Afro-American Studies at Brandeis University.
