The scrapbook was prepared by Laura McAllester, who was a faculty member of the North Carolina State Normal and Industrial College (now The University of North Carolina at Greensboro), teaching Physical Culture. Along with Eva P. Washburne, McAllester trained all of the dancers for the 1912 May Day Pageant. The scrapbook was a gift of Edith C. Haight. Haight was a member of the graduating class of 1915. While attending the college, Haight was a member of the Adelphian Society, Dramatic Club, and the Champion Baseball Team. She also served as the Vice President and Treasurer of the Athletic Association, Treasurer and Cabinet Member of the Y.W.C.A., and was an Annual Editor and Magazine Editor.
