Lewis, Melvin B.
Variant namesMelvin Lewis was born in 1917 on a ranch near Mt. Shasta, Calif. He worked as a private gamekeeper, a truck driver, a laborer with the Civilian Conservation Corps, a fire fighter for the California State Forestry Service, and as an Army Air Corps pilot in the Pacific during World War II. Following the war, he was a camera salesman for Standard Optical in Utah and Idaho before becoming an engineer for Ingersoll Rand from 1947 to 1985.
