Boone, Nathan.

Hide Profile

Daniel Boone died on September 26, 1820, and was buried, as he requested, in Marysville Cemetery at Defiance, Missouri, next to his wife Rebecca. In early 1845, the Frankfort Cemetery Executive Committee voted to bring the remains of Daniel and Rebecca back to Kentucky to be reinterred at the new Frankfort Cemetery. The Missouri legislature agreed to the request if the cemetery obtained permission from the Boone family. Nathan Boone granted the request and in July of 1845 the Boones were removed to Kentucky. With military pomp and parade, they were reinterred in the Frankfort Cemetery in October of 1845.
