Cozine family.

Hide Profile

The Cozine family members have often attempted to trace their family history to Anneke Jans from Holland. Anneke Jans came to America around 1630, settled on a farm in New Amsterdam (situated in lower Manhattan), died in 1663 and provided in her will for the division of the proceeds of the farm. The farm transferred through many hands, eventually fell to the crown and was subsequently leased to Trinity (Protestant Episcopal) Church in New York City. The descendents of Anneke Jans have often sued the Trinity Church Corporation for the disputed land.
