Navarre, André, 1836-1912.
Bishop Navarre was ordained in 1872. He began a mission on New Britain in 1882, which he expanded with new stations on Papua New Guinea. In 1887, he was consecrated Bishop at Issoudun, Belgium, and was raised to the status of Archbishop in 1888. He remained in Papua New Guinea until just before his death.
