Commission established in 1908 by Illinois Governor Deneen to arrange for an Illinois monument at the site of Andersonville Prison, Georgia. The monument, designed by W. Carbys Zimmerman, was dedicated Dec. 20, 1912.

Commission members included Aaron H. McCracken, Gilbert J. George, William H. Hainline, Lewis F. Lake and James M. Swales.
