Sheldon Moore was born in Southington, Connecticut on October 17, 1798. He graduated from Yale in 1818 and taught for some time in Virginia and Connecticut. Moore studied law and was admitted to the bar but chose instead to engage in business. He died in Kensington, Connecticut on March 20, 1866.

Sheldon Moore was born in Southington, Connecticut, on October 17, 1798. He graduated from Yale in 1818 and taught for some time in Virginia and Connecticut. Moore studied law and was admitted to the bar but chose instead to engage in business. He died in Kensington, Connecticut, on March 20, 1866.

Sheldon Moore died in Kensington, Conn., March 20, 1866, aged 67 years.

He was the son of Roswell and Lovina (Phillips) Moore, and was born in Southington, Conn., Oct. 17, 1798.

After his graduation he taught for some time in Virginia and in Connecticut. He afterwards studied law, and was admitted to practice, but did not make it his profession. He was engaged in business from which he retired about twenty-five years ago, on account of a failure of health.

Sheldon Moore was born on October 17, 1798, the son of Roswell and Lovina Moore, and graduated from Yale College in 1818. He taught in Southington, Connecticut, and later earned a law degree; he practiced law in Kensington, Connecticut, though frail health forced him to focus on literary studies. On November 1, 1831, Moore married Susan L. Dickinson. Their three surviving children were John, Charles, and Susan. Sheldon Moore died on March 20, 1866.

Eliza Moore, was born on September 11, 1807, the daughter of Roswell and Levina Moore and a sister of Sheldon Moore. On August 6, 1829, she married Charles Carter Langdon, a merchant and future mayor of Mobile, Alabama.
