Silvestro, Clement M.

Clement Mario Silvestro (b. 1924) was a historian, author, and one-time director of the Chicago Historical Society. Silvestro received his Ph.D. in history from the University of Wisconsin in 1959. He served as director of the American Association for State and Local History (AASLH) and editor of History News. In 1965, Silvestro became director of the Chicago Historical Society, following a period as associate director. In 1975, he became the first executive director of the Scottish Rite Masonic Museum (later known as the National Heritage Museum) in Lexington (Mass.).
