Pat Chadwell Jackson was born on August 4, 1941 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She attended Pryor High School in Pryor, Oklahoma and graduated in 1958. In 1962 she received her B.A. & B.S. degree from Texas Woman's University. She was hired by the head of the Southwest and Genealogy section in August 1963. She went back to school and received her M.L.S. in 1964 from Texas Woman's University. She remained head of the Genealogy and Local History Unit until 1987. She retired from the Library on November 30, 1989. She married Edwin Earl Jackson, Jr. on November 2, 1984. She died in Fort Worth on March 15, 1992 and her husband died on March 16, 1992.
